People are using part worn tyres because they are seen as a cheap alternative to buying new ones when actually they can work out more expensive. Per mm of tread they can cost more than putting brand new safe tyres on
Part worn tyres are part worn because they are someones else's scrap tyres and they are putting people in the vehicle in danger as well as the other motorists on the road. You wouldn't buy a car without testing and making sure its safe first but people seem to treat tyres in a different way when in fact its the only part of the car keeping you on the road and in 90% of test, part worn tyres are 'very dangerous' and shouldn't be on UK roads.
